Honeybutterbaconfudgemoon Kanada / USA

Hi!!!

I’m back from our honeymoon, a bit sad that its over, but it was a dream, couldn’t have been better! We really enjoyed the 3 weeks!

It’s really hard to plan a holiday in such a big country as Canada… what’s really worth a visit and what can be neglected?! Since my friend Denia (whom I visited last year in Berkeley) now lives near Seattle (Bremerton) the end point of our travels was already fixed. Its only a few hours from Seattle to Vancouver, so the question of west versus east was answered. We booked a flight to Vancouver and back home from Seattle, the time in between was unplanned – we like being flexible when on vacation.

We only spent 1,5 days in Vancouver, which was enough for us! We visited Granville Island with its great market, Downtown with the gassteam clock and the view over Vancouver, the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park and more.

Then we got our camper. A Wicked Camper named „Pulp Fiction“ 😉

I can recommend the camper without restrictions!! We knew them from New Zealand already and now got the opportunity to test them in practice. Not only that we got to know tons of people who loved the camper, we could also live easily in there for about 2 weeks. In the back theres room for luggage and the possibility to build a table and 2 benches. Or you just use it as a bed. The trunk is full of shelves with a whole kitchen in it – a gas cooker, a sink with fresh- and wastewater tanks etc. You can drive into the wild and don’t need much besides the camper! 😉

We went to the Rocky Mountain Nationalparks and visited them all: Yoho National Park, Banff National Park, Icefields Parkway to Jasper National Park, Wells Gray Provincial Park…and then back to Vancouver. We didn’t have a detailled plan, but there are not many roads there anyway. We hiked a lot and have seen amazing things, for pics just go back to the posts from the last weeks. (I might do posts with detailled infos about the nationalparks, but we’ll see – would you be interested in this?)

We only spent one night in Vancouver to extent the length of the Camper rental… we wanted to take him to Vancouver Island! We went there by ferry and spent 5 days. Victoria, Nanaimo, Port Alberni, Tofino, Uclulet – up the east coast, through the country to the Pacific Rim Nationalpark on the west coast.

We took a ferry back from Nanaimo to Vancouver, returned the Camper and went to Bremerton/Seattle by train. From there we did some trips too, to Mount Rainier Nationalpark and Olympic Nationalpark. And after three great weeks we took a flight home on wednesday from Seattle to Austria!

That was a rough description about our way trough Canada, as I already said, theres more to come! What can you expect in the near future to see on the blog: there are some wedding posts left, pumpkin season is here, and with it my turn to try some new recipes, and lots more.

Ich wünsch euch ein schönes Wochenende!! / Wish you a great weekend!!

PS: If you wonder about the title of this post: we didn’t think honeymoon gave our culinary feasts enough credit 😉
